Just as I was folding again for the [H] my PC caught the hardware swine flu so it's not folding until I can isolate the problem. I used the crash as an excuse to get a new power supply but that didn't help and am worried that the mobo has a problem. Once I get it fixed-look out! :D

I was wondering what happened. I was about to be mowed down by you.

Hope its nothing too serious!

Symptoms? List your hardware and let us know what it's (or isn't) doing and I'm sure we can help.

Thanks for the offer but ASUS thinks it's the mobo and so I get to wave bye-bye to it.

Here's what happened in a nutshell:

The power acted like a brown out where it didn't just die all at once. I opened the case up and and checked the power connects and noticed that on the 24 pin power one socket (+12v) on the board was scorched and the connector had melted in one spot.
It would not POST until I disconnected the drives.
So I'm waiting on ASUS for getting an RMA. Not sure how long the process is for this and am fighting off the urges to just buy a new mobo and get it shipped 2-day or something like that.

Regardless you need a new mobo, but I would make sure its not your PSU causing that.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune, tj, but you and hemigod were about to mow me good. That might change, though, as I am now running my smp client in a vm, and it is currently doing steps in about 1/3 the time it was. When my True comes in, Wed I hope, I'll be able to come up off the 2.8 I am currently running, hopefully up to at least 4.

i feel your pain...

lost a GTX 260 in one system. a PSU and RAM in another. so i am down 2 folders. miss my 260 already. so i just finished RMA requests for them, and will hobble along until i get replacements. just what you want to happen when you come home huh?

on the bright side the system i won here is humming right along!

down but not out, just a little frustrated and the timing SuX0rz.
