Ogg Vorbis codec not working

Hello,

I have tried to install the Ogg Vorbis codec multiple times, but it doesn't show up in my codecs list under Sounds and Audio Devices. Help??

It is a encoding format.. not an audio device. I think you are thinking of something like onboard sound ac-97 Realtec 650 codec audio chip.

Go to the control panel, sounds and audio devices applet.
Click the hardware tab and select codec..... click properties and properties again.
The shows you the list of codecs you have on your system.
That is what Egekrusher is talking about here.
Correct me if I am wrong here but Vorbis does not install as a system codec.... it's a indepent module kinda like LAME is.

You are correct sir. It is an independant program that you can use to process a .wav file into a .ogg file. When I want to use it, I set it up as an external encoder in EAC.

Ahh.. forgot all about that. Been a while since I stumbled across that.

From all the articels I've read on it, it's supposed to show up in there. I installed Fruity Loops 4, and it uses Ogg Vorbis samples, and the samples won't play. The codec shows up on my PC, but not on my mom's.
