Official smack talk thread

can qfix rescue them even if the core deleted the work?

Yes, they might leave some stray files which can be rescued and returned for partial credit. This will also help Stanford notice there might be a problem with that WU.

Hum... Why a question in a smack talk ??? Go fold yourself :p

Well, so far, I'm bringing:
1 3.33 Celeron
1 AMD64 3400
1 AMD64 x2 3800
1 PS3
1 PIII-1000
1 PIII-900
1 AMD64 x2 4200
1 C2Q 2.4ghz
2 2xC2Q Xeon 3.00
1 2xC2D Xeon 2.33
1 2.4ghz Celeron
1 Core Duo 1.86

How's that for a start?

Let's see, about 10K?

Let me know when you decide to really get involved... ;)
I already posted, but I'm adding an unexpected pair of GPU's to the mix; my 4K prediction is out the window. I won't give everything away, though. :p

Too bad it doesn't run on AIX. I've got quite a bit of that.

Does the GPU client run on Nvidia?

donno if 900ppd is alot, but I heard that the PS3s are super folders. 8 cored beasts.

What a bunch of wussies talking about PPD and specs... Man up and throw some memorable smack talk !!!

No need on my part. My PPD is up 5%, and I haven't even turned on a single new borg yet. :p Just did a bit of tweaking on my current hardware, and so far I'm pretty happy. :)

Hey everyone, too busy watching the TV to bother borging other computers ??

Bring some action, it's lonely lately :(

working on it. I have a whole slew of boxen that can't contact the WU server for some reason. They can get the core, tey just can't get a WU :(

yeah.

All I can get out of the big servers is this, over and over again:
[19:44:02] Couldn't v3Decompress
[19:44:02] - Fatal: Could not decompress work unit data.
[19:44:02] Error: Could not open work file
[19:44:02]
[19:44:02] Folding@home Core Shutdown: FILE_IO_ERROR
[19:44:02] CoreStatus = 75 (117)

7 different systems, no one has any idea why.

I guess this is a file permissions issue. Make sure you have write rights on the client folder ;)
