I know in the past, there was some discussion about how the Intel i3 CPUs unofficially supported ECC RAM

I noticed the new Ivy Bridge Intel Core i3-3200 Desktop Processor Series have official ECC RAM support per Intel

Yes like the 3nd generation Intel® Core™ i3's processors will support ECC memory with the right board. The C202, C204, C206 all do. Asus who is the only one using the C216 chipset (to my knowledge) says you have to use an Intel Xeon® to use ECC.

is there a way to verify if ECC is activated?
a true test, not a motherboard setting?
