Ok, you guys have help me with the previous 2 office builts but this one is different, this one is for the Big Kahuna and it needs to be something high end as he would expect no less.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Web Browsing, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook), Accounting/Point of Sale that will need to be run inside Virtual XP, normal Multitasking.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$ 1,500.00
Tax and Shipping are included
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Miami, Florida 33155
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case
PSU
CPU ----- (Must be Intel, he does not like AMD... I5 should suffice)
MOBO ----- (Asus or similar or better quality. I figure Asus is one of the top ones?
)
RAM ----- (16GBs of Good Ram)
Video Card ----- (Nvidia is preferred)
SSD -------------- (80 to 90 GBs)
HDD -------------- (500GBs to 1 TB Max)
CD/DVD/r/w
Keyboard
Mouse
25" LCD Monitor
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
No reusable parts
6) Will you be overclocking?
No overclocking
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
N/A
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As soon as I can get all the components together
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? etc.
USB 3.0 would be cool.
SATA 6 GB/s would also be cool
Onboard video as well
but none of these are real requirements or deal breakers.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, we will be ordering Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits from a friend that works for MS and gets me the software at a very good price but this will not be part of the budget.
I expect to install win 7 ultimate 64 bit on this rig and since the Accounting/Point of Sale software must run on XP, I plan to make a Virtual XP to run it, this way, he can make use of the 16 GBs of good Ram for the other stuff and still leave some of that ram to run the virtual XP.
I have chosen a 80 to 90 GB SSD because I figure that as long as he can run the OS and the main applications on it, the rest will be handled by the Backup HDD spinner.
I am looking for a nice looking case, lots of room to breath but not something that will break the bank or the budget.
I also want a decent Video Card but since he will not be doing heavy editing or drawing, it does not have to be top of the line... He does prefer Nvidia.
Again, thanks for the help folks... and enjoy spending my money.
