I was going to do a budget upgrade on my rig in my sig, but I have some more funds now.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Work primarily, hosing as a quasi server for data and quickbooks for my small office, lots of internet and outlook use. some gaming (mostly LoL, WoW, but havent played that in over a year)
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$600-900
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Irvine, CA - by a microcenter
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, Motherboard, HDD (prefer speed over capacity)
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
GeForce 9600, Seasonic 600W PSU, Lian Li Full Tower Case, Samsung T260 Monitor 1950x1200
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yea a little, but stability is the goal.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1950x1200
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Crossfire/SLI support would be nice, but I doubt I would ever go down that road.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No. will probably go Win 7 home prem 64
I am tossing between i5 2500k or i7 2600k.. i dont mind paying it but wonder if it will be noticeable for me. Also I dont know what to do for HDD or SSD.. I dont need that last 10% difference, but I want something simple and solid.. also a main goal is to have very fast disk access when multiple computers are trying to get quickbooks or orther shared date over the network.. for that purpose what is the best way to setup my HDD or SSD? I dont mind doing 2 or even a RAID setup for HDD.. dont need too much space, just speed.
