Office 2007 Pro - Product Key Invalid?

So, I ordered Office 2007 from JourneyEd to get an academic discount, and it arrived yesterday. As the site stated, i was given the Office 2003 media with a key that is supposable for Office 2007 (they said on the website that the reason they can do this is that the Office 2007 key is downwards compatible with 2003).

They said they would shoot their customers an e-mail when Office 2007 media was available so we could use the 2007 key. My idea was that I could simply download the Office 2007 Pro trial from the Microsoft Office website, and use the key they provided me to convert the trial into a full version...I was told I have an invalid key...

I'm beginning to suspect that I was given an Office 2003 key, meaning that I'm now forced to wait for them to ship out the Office 2007 disks.

Any ideas here? Think if I call up JourneyEd they might read me off my key over the phone?
