Picked it up on steam. 1C has made some quality games and this is no exception. Visually its excellent and surprisingly fun. Not without its issues, biggest being no free-roam(for those who just want to do rock climbing or obstacles). Lots of potential though. Anyone who has any interest in off-roadin will love it.

I love this game, but it has some quirks!

It is a strange brew of arcade fun and slightly sim racing that is fun as all hell, but just screams for a little more finish to the product. See VIDEO below...

If only there was FREE ROAMING and a TRACK EDITOR + DIRT BIKE MODELS!
The terrain just kicks butt and I would love to run DIRT BIKES and QUADS on it!

I'm VERY glad I bought it and played 6 hours - so far ;D

I got it on sale @ 1/2 off here - http://store.steampowered.com/app/200230/

YouTube will give you an idea if you would like it or not.
- it is a unique kind of racing game...

If these two games had a baby, I would make sweet love to that game for many years...

Off-Road Drive - gameplay

Ideally supports free roam riding + track and race editor, object imports, etc.
Ideally supports multi-player / FPS quake style browser + auto "map" downloads.
Ideally supports custom bike + rider skins + auto "skin/model" downloads for MP.

TOTALLY ON or OFF SUBJECT NOW...
If I won the lottery, I would build a motorcycle racing game controller.

Game is awesome, nice niche racing game with great off-road physics (even if the game is arcade'ish over sim).

the game doesn't look bad but i don't think i'd even pay 18 bucks for it. me personally i'd rather see these graphics but with the game play style of 4x4 evolution(if anyone even remembers the first and only dual platform game that allowed PC players and gamecube players to go up against each other). the ability to make huge custom tracks in that game was awesome.

4x4 Evo and 4x4 Evo 2 were easily my favorite games. There were so many custom tracks/trucks that it made my head spin. Remember KC Vales website which was the best place to get mods?

It's still around. I wouldn't doubt if they still had an active community as well.

i know for a while they had a seperate server for 4x4 evo 2 when the main servers went down but i haven't checked in probably 3 or 4 years now. i still liked the first 4x4 evo the most. i probably put 1000+ hours into that game plus another 500+ hours designing custom maps and cars/trucks for it..

All the talk of 4x4 Evo makes me want to get Off-Road Drive, haha. Not sure if the 18 dollars is something I'm looking to spend unfortunately. I wonder if it has racing wheel support.

My Logitech G27 works fine, but it kinda' acts like a game pad.
I was able to map most buttons naturally, but some have gibberish labels.
Just to get going, I mapped my typical buttons and totally ignored the labels.
- fake example = what would normally be like Button 11 shows up as: ?_button_zxf

I actually got pissed & quit after my first hour because I could not work the winch!

I just wanted to play the game, so I accepted the weirdness to start & will try to my sort shifting, winching & starting w/ 4x4 & locked diffs already turned on later. I also think the gas & brake are on a shared split axis vs. separate axis. Like when I hit the brake, it takes away from the gas rather than allow me to stay on the gas and "drag" or ride the brakes while applying gas. Crucial in racing games, but not so bad for this game and may be fixable if I used the Logitech Profiler / advanced settings.

I never played EVO 2, but this game has a much slower pace + rock crawling vs. EVO 2 (based on videos I watched of that game) and you only race against ghost vehicles here. MotorM4X.Offroad.Extreme is another decent looking 4x4 game I saw on Youtube & it may be available really cheap too...

The graphics and deforming terrain in this game are so way beyond EVO 2.

I've played 8 hours so far and I know I will play another 10 hours at the least...
- I love this genre of gaming and think $1 per hour is cheap entertainment!
:D

http://www.bundlestars.com/ has this in the Dynamite Reloaded bundle. It is 10 games for $2.50. At 25 cents I think it is worth it for the lulz of trying to figure out how to get around the course. :)

All Steam keys btw.

Good news & thx for the links - butt I missed the deadline!

The (small) 4x4 games community has been rabidly asking for free roam mode in Off-Road Drive + co-op driving mode so you can take a group of 4 vehicles & go wherever you want & winch each other through various obstacles in the best multi-player mode ever!

This game does not specifically address those fan features but it is another building block along the path of hardcore off-roaders getting what they want eventually!!

DL'ing the demo right now!

Spin Tires demo is still open + user made vehicles & maps were added!
