OEM E6400 vs. Retail E4500

I just scored an OEM E6400 on Ebay for cheap and comparing it to my current E4500 it doesn't really seem to be an upgrade.....As the Stock FSB is not relevant when overclocking....Tell me how is the 6400 diff. from the 4500? How/why is a 6400 worth $50 more?(comparing Newegg prices) Which would be the better overclocker?

The ad for this CPU I bought says it's OEM but it has a boxed model #BX80557E6400 Guess I'll see when it arrives...

more l2 cache on the e6600 making it a bit quicker than the e4500 at the same clock speed. the 11x multiplier on the e4500 may help push it's maximum over all clock higher than what the e6600 can achieve.
 
My understanding is they both have 2M of L2.......Im asking about a 6400 not a 6600

Thats probably why rennyf77 thought you were asking about the E6600. You mentioned it twice.

Anyway, there is little difference between the E6400 and E4500. So you basically wasted your money. It's not an upgrade
 
I didn't waste any $$ as I got the 6400 at a price I can easily sell the 4500 for.....And yes sorry for the misleading typos in the org post they've been fixed.
