I just recently converted to water cooling. So I slowly began tweaking each component.
I set the multiplier to 6x and worked the FSB. I was able to get it stable at 466 with Prime95 for over an hour and such.
When I I bumped up my multiplier I could get the CPU stable at 3.85, with prime 95 for an hour, but what I noticed was an interesting side effect. When I overclocked my video card at all, I mean 1mhz above stock, the system would hang. I could do 3dmark06 at stock video clocks all day long, but any overclock of the video card = instant hang.
My previous stable OC on my vid card is 675/1053 on my GTX at stock volts. So I was pretty happy with that. Then all of a sudden I OC my CPU and can't overclock my GTX at all.
Any suggestions?
I would really like to keep my CPU at 4ghz and the GTX at 675/1053. I think that combo can get me 15k in 3dmark06.
I guess I can try playing with the FSB, maybe there is just something with that frequency that is playing hell with my vid card! Again any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
To note I have not touched the speeds of the PCI-e slots
Thanks again for any assistance.
