Ok ppl i will try to explain this to the best of my abilty. Awhile back i posted a question about my cd-rom's not working becasue of an power outage. Well today i switched my slave HD to my ide2 slot and my 2 cdroms to my ide1 slot. Well my cdroms work fine now and my HD don't. So i'm guessing it has something todo with my ide2 slot. Well thats all fine and dandy, so i go to reinstall my HD to ide 1 until i figure out how to fix my problem with my cdroms and when i got to reboot i get this " NTLDR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot" Thats it. I unplug the HD and system works fine. I plug in my cdroms to my ide1 slot and system boots fine. Can anyone explain to me whats going on??

Odd Trouble with system.

When you added your second hard drive back in it reset the boot order.
Before you add the drive check that it is still jumpered as a slave drive.
After you add the drive go into the bios and check that the first hard drive is still first in the boot order.

hey guyz got the drive running again, sorry for the noobies question, but i wasn't aware that after u install the drive again it resest in the bios. anyways i sitll got the problem with my ide2 slot, so i guess i will move this topic up to the mother board section. thanks ppl

well if the IDE1 slot ( Primary = 0 and Secondary = 1 generally) is actually toast there isnt a damn thing to be done about it
what I would recommend thought is uninstalling the busmaster driver and both channels in device manager and on reboot they would be reloaded (also see if there are any newer drivers available) then using a known good but junk HDD and a known good cable try to get it recognized in the BIOS if successful Id run ATACT (demo)
