Odd RROD question...

So I've got a 360 here. Had it for about 2 years and now its starting to break. I'll turn it on and the picture is very glossy, its hard to describe. But eventually after this the picture will go out completely and there will just be sound. This happened once before and in a last ditch attempt I wrapped the box up in a towel and turned it on for a while, and this actually fixed the problem but only for a bit.

So anyways, I called up support, they say this problem isnt covered in the extended 3 year warranty, only the RROD is. So does anyone know a surefire way to cause a RROD?
 
There really isn't a guaranteed way to cause RRoD. The best bet is sending it to them and saying it's intermittently RRoDing.

You could try the towel again... but there's as much of a chance that it will kill it completely.

Hmm sounds like the same thing I am dealing with. I had a weird picture issue and then it just stopped displaying all together and I get no sound. Mine is just over a year old and I have to send it in and pay the $99 to get it repaired. I am going to raise some hell when I call as this will be the 4th 360 and the one going back was a factory repair.
