I've had a problem the last few days with random restarting and other random problems. Sometimes if I do something as simple as opening firefox, it'll just reboot.

My computer is:
X2 3800+ @ 2.3
2GB curcial value
7900gt with zalman vf-900cu
dfi ultra-d
lian li v1000 plus II
4 HDDs
2 DVD-RWs
PCP&C Silencer 470

I thought the ram was an issue, so I did memtest overnight and no problems. The voltage looks good and is perfectly stable.

On a similar note, I just upgraded the case and have the same problem with the power switch. Sometimes I hit the power button and the light flashes, but it doesn't boot, so I have the hit it a second time, I thought this was the button on my last case, but apparently it isn't. Does this sound like the PSU? It's only about a year old and should be able to handle what I've got easily.

sounds like not enough juice to power your system, most likely not a defective psu.

Are you Prime + 3dMark stable.

Try and run stress tests on both the CPU and the vid card at the same time.
First with everything attached as that will maximize the draw on the power supply.
Then at minimum spec to drop the load on the supply.
Is there any difference is result ?

Luck............ :D

Ok, ran Prime for 4 hours, no problems. Ran it with 3D Mark, no problems. Max temps were 51C for chipset and 50C for CPU, so I don't think temps are the problem. Restarting happens doing stupid things like dragging an icon or clicking on something. BF2 also seems to make the comp. restart for some reason.

I think my PSU provides plenty of power for my system.

Voltages are according to speedfan:

+3.3V: 3.18V, +5V: 4.95V, +12V: 11.78. BIOS readings are quite a bit tighter than speedfans readings.

Maybe the problem is the mobo?
