I've recently begun to use Ping plotter to monitor my network to one of my servres. One additional feature of Ping Plutter is an audio alert on a set-able value.

But, the server running the application, has no sound card. And there's little way that a sound card will find it's way into the box (No pci slots left. :p )

So, I'm asking the Networking forum if any one knows a way to pipe audio over a network connection to a box with speakers? This had been discussed in the audio forum for some while with no one providing a solution. Perhaps someone here would have one?

No. Not quite. :-\

The application can generate an audio event on specific requirements. (i.e. high packet loss) But in a machine with no sound card, it's pretty difficult to hear that. So I'm looking for a way to pump the audio out to another machine, thus gaining the benefit of the audio que.

There is, but it depends on what OS it's running.
(The easiest is probably esound.)
