ok, i got an athlon xp-m 2400+ for christmas. i already had an abit nf7-s rev 2 sitting here so i put the system together today. i get random lockups when using sound, but here is the really odd part. they reduce in frequency when i run my pc3200 ram at pc2700 speeds. am i going to have to bite the bullet and put in a sound card, or is this a known issue with said board. i can't rma it since i bought it on ebay.

Which Nvidia driver set are you using?
I have the same mobo, currently with Nvidia 5.10 driver set. No sound problems.
I do not recommend IDE/ATAPI driver from Nvidia 5.10 driver set, as it did cause me some problems. Use the standard Windows IDE/ATAPI drivers.

i tried the 5.10 driver set, the 4.57 audio drivers, and the 6.31 beta driver set. i broke down last night and installed my turtle beach catalina sound card and it made the problem worse. so this morning i decided to reinstall windows. working good so far, but time will tell i guess.
