I hope this is in the right place, if not I am sory.

My fiancee's PC has a AMD x2 5000+. The temps idle are around 28c-32c. In a game it jumps up to 38c-40c. The thing is, it starts beeping and beeping and beeping like its over heating, she leaves the game, and it stops. Is there any reason this stupid thing is giving the over heating warning when its not even over heating?
 
Check over heat warning settings in bios, or other temp monitoring program. Turn them off, or set them rediculously high... (~80-90*C).
 
BIOS thermal threshold is probably adjustable. Could be set to low. Or some temperature monitoring programs like Realtemp (even though your not using that particular one) can be set to alarm if it gets too hot. Check those first.
 
if its coming from the internal speaker.. its the bios.. if its coming through your regular speakers.. then check to make sure theres moitoring programs like ATLPIMP was saying.. unless its beeping due to there not being enough power getting to the gfx card..
 
Its coming from the internal. gfx is a 8600GT, has a 550watt PSU in it. Thanks for the responces guys.
