Odd problem with Viewsonic LCDs

I had a viewsonic VP2030b running off of BFG 6800GT AGP for about year and a half when i started having problems with screen going black randomly. I could be in the middle of a game or browsing the net and screen would just go black, but the signal light would still be green (it is still getting signal). If i turn it off and on it would picture came back from anywhere between couple of seconds to 5 mins then would go black again. so i naturally RMA'd it and got a new monitor. it's a VP2030b but the newer revision.

the problem is this monitor was fine for a week or so but now it has done the same thing again TWICE  . i don't know what to think. is my video card breaking these monitors? it's been fine now for a couple of hours but i never know when its gonna go black again.

Any ideas about what is causing this is GREATLY appreciated!!!

You could always run it off the second video plug on your video card to try to rule that out.

i did that with the old one. ran it off the VGA port and it was fine for a week and then the same problem. Right now it does it constantly when i am play BF2.. but normal desktop browsing there are no problems. Could it be an over heating problem? it almost seems like the backlight is going out.

   :(

any other ideas? i reinstalled the latest forceware and updated the viewsonic drivers... seemed like it was good but after half hour of BF2... boom black screen. this is really getting annoying. someone must know something i don't. if i turn off the monitor for a minute and turn it back on i got picture again but it goes out again.... can't figure it out.
