Odd mouse behavior - Single Click sometimes Double Click

ok, I have an odd problem that just started happening this morning. I have a Logitech MX Duo and Windows XP Sp2. The problem I'm experiencing is about every 5 or 6 "single" clicks, the next click is a double click. Like, when just clicking on icons on the desktop. i can select 5 icons no problem, but if i try selecting a sixth time, it'll open, as if it was double clicked. I checked my mouse properties and everything is sound, no buttons are mapped to double click

I hope this makes sense... and how do I fix it? basically my mouses single clicks are becoming double clicks.
 
no, nothing happened to it physically.

I think I solved the problem though by reinstalling the mouse drivers and iTouch software
 
I had this problem with my MX1000 a while back. The MouseFix program FOUND HERE fixed it for me.
