Odd issue with Plantronics USB headset

Background:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
Plantronics USB headset (plug and pray)
16Gb of ram

I've been using my Plantronics headset for about 7 months now without any issues. Same windows 7 install, different cpu/mobos, and all seemed fine. Starting last night, when I plug in my headset to any usb port, the audiodg process seems to go nutz and eat CPU usage (1 core/1 thread on my 2600k). I can open the 'Sounds' control panel, and access the playback tab, but the moment I click on record tab, it freezes up the sounds control panel. If I unplug the USB headset, everything returns to normal.

USB flash drives and harddrives work fine.

Already removed and reinstalled the driver from Device Manager. Also reinstalled my main sound driver.

Any suggestions?

Just wanted to update anyone that cared...

Seems that my USB Mbox2 audio interface was interfering with the USB headset. If I unplug the Mbox2, I can plugin my headset and vice versa.

Not sure why they were playing nice before, but now not so much.
