Hey,
For the last few months ive been having a pretty weird problem. It used to happen when i was in a game but now it is starting to happen when im talking to people online or looking for files on my computer. Its pretty irregular and happens for different durations. The problem is that i will be doing something on my computer and then it will freeze, ill move my mouse a little bit and like 15 seconds or more later ill see my mouse move, then it will freeze again. This happens for like 2 minutes or so and some times is fixed when i do ctrl+alt+del and minimize everything. Other times nothing helps it and it keeps freezing on and off or it gets stuck on one screen. I have a feeling it has to do with the video card getting old, overheating, or the cpu overheating.
I have an a64 3500+ and a BBA 9600pro, both with stock coolers. ive reseated the cpu a few times [not recently or near the timespan that the problem has been occuring] but ive always applied thermal compound to it. I dont think [and really dont hope] that its a power problem because i have a PCP&C 510 deluxe. Any ideas or suggestions? I planned on getting a new video card sometime this winter [if i have enough money] and im likely going to be getting a new heatsink relatively soon.
Thanks for the help
