I picked up an OCZ StealthXStream 600w for my system, thinking it would be as quiet as my Codegen 400w (which was pretty quiet). The thing's blasting away at full bore all the time, regardless of internal temperatures. The only thing I did before installing it was test it with a Dell power supply checker. Did I get a bad PSU, or is it something else?

Specs:

X2 3800+ @ Stock
ASROCK 939-SATA2 (a 20-pin mainboard)
1.5GB DDR400
8800GTS 320

It's marketing. Remember the Vantec Stealth, with the not-so-stealth fan?

It's also not particularly 'Xstream', since it's just another FSP Epsilon based unit.

Ah yes, marketing. How could I forget that. I almost bought one of those Vantec fans at the same time. Shame on me.

EDIT AGAIN:

Actually, the PSU is defective, the thermal sensor isn't working and that's why it's spinning away. the OCZ support form said that it's RMA-worthy, so back to the store it goes..... or not. The new one is just as loud.
