Hi,
got myself a set of 2x1024 OCZ2N1066SR1G SLi certified modules and was looking for another pair to populate my spare slots on my Asus P5KC however I can only find OCZ2N1066SR2GK modules available and having looked on OCZ website I can see NO differnce between the 2 models. Can anyone tell me if I can run a pair of OCZ2N1066SR1G modules with a pair of OCZ2N1066SR2GK modules and if so will I see a perfomance decrease because they are not the same product codes although I can see no difference in the 2 codes according to the specs there must be a reason for differring part numbers but I can't find the answer can anyone help please??

I would say since one ends in 1G and the other ends in 2G and the rest of the model number is the same that they're essentially the same and one is a first generation set and the other is a second generation set. I see no reason why they wouldn't work just fine together.

Cheers polygon hope that is the case I am at the moment putting 2.1v through ram however I see from the website that it says on product info 2.1-2.3v I am tempted to put 2.3v through these sticks and try to tighten the timings to maybe 4-4-4-12 2t what do you think my chances are?? I also hear it is more difficult to overclock 4x1024 sticks rather than 2x1024 sticks for some reason how is that??

1. Running the timings lower at 2T isn't much of an issue. Go ahead and try it, the worst that will happen is no post and you'll have to revert your BIOS settings.

2. It's more difficult because it's less stress on the memory controller for two sticks Vs. four.

In all honesty if you're wanting four GB and you want to run 4-4-4-12 and you want to OC you might want to look at a 2x2GB kit. Also, you're not running XP or Vista 32 bit are you?
