OCZ MODXSTREAM 400W PSU pwoering problem

Well i bought a new OCZ MODXSTREAM 400W PSU now when i plug it into the wall socket without anything plugged in to check if it works it doesnt turn on!! so i just wanted to know if it will work if nothing is plugged into it will it work like the fan spinning etc etc thnx!

Yep i think you can connect the green wire to the black one to get the fan spinning when powering up need to check that tho been a while .

true connecting green to black will cause the power supply to turn on, but sometimes if there is no load on it, like a hard drive or a really large fan, it will just turn back off.

PSUs don't start unless you have something connected to it to tell it to start (i.e. a motherboard). You can fool it in to doing it by shorting two pins on the main 24pin connector - look up a guide.

I don't know why you'd need to do this though?

well i got the psu from abroad so i jus wanted to make sure it will work because if it didnt i cant exchange it!
