Hey, is the OCZ Modstreme 520 watt enough for:a

Asus a8n-sli deluxe
A64 3800+
BFG 6800GT
1 gig kingston ram
1 dvd rw
2 raptors
1 250 gig hdd
etc..

and is it 24 pin native?

or would the fortron 500watt be better? i know that has a native 24 pin

I believe the Anandtech SLI review used a 520w OCZ PSU but I can't remember if it was the Modstreme or not.

it was the powerstreme, is that gonna be ok?

and that has the native 24 pin right?

I've got the OCZ ModStream 520watt running Asus P4C800-E Deluxe, Pentium 4 2.4C, eVGA 5900SE, 2x 512 PC3200 Mushkin 2-2-2, 1x 120 gb hdd, 3x200 gb hdds, Audigy sound card, an extra 10/100 network card, a Leadtek TV2000XP Deluxe TV tuner, a cd burner and a DVD burner... It does have native 24 pin standard, too.

Run the numbers.

The modstream is kind of 24pin native. The 20pin clips to a 4 pin if you need a 24pin connection.

Also the modstream appears to have only one 12v rail which means it isn't an atx v2.0 PSU. This will limit your upgrade path which I assume you are planning on since you are buying an SLI mobo.

It is an excellent supply just a few things to know before buying.

If you are going SLI, you need at least +12V@30A or more, the OCZ PowerStreams would be better. If you must have modular then the Antec NeoPower 480 would be a very good choice. ;)

Are the OCZ Modstream or the Powerstreams ATX v2.0 compliant? According to this link at Monarch it lists this Modstream as "OCZ OCZ45012U ModStream ATX 2.0 450W Power Supply" right at the top.

Another question: this Enermax PSU is listed as being "ATX12V Ver2.01, SFMA 2.0" compliant. Enermax Noisetaker What exactly do I need for my current setup (see sig) and that would be future proof as well?

No I don't believe it is. I can not find atx2.0 listed on the OCZ site or 2 12v's listed on the site or in the silent pc review:

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article208-page1.html
It is a hybrid v1.3 PSU... beefier +12V line, 24-pin ATX connector, and the 6-pin PCI-E power connector usually comes with these OCZ power supplies too. It's got everything except the dual-12V rails and active PFC.

So i was correct the answer is no.

the mobo spec
the latest is ATX v2.1 (PDF)

ATX12V is the subspec addressing power supplies
and as pointed out the Modstreams are ATX12V v1.3 hybrids
ATX12V v2.01 (PDF) is the latest PSU spec

conforming to the latest spec doesnt necessarilly mean its a superior supply
but its a point to be weighted, The Modstream has superior load regulation and likely equal or more amps than say the Blue Storm
(the OCZ is rated at 40C, the FSPs rating is unknown but they are also conservative when rating supplies
which actually has more amps (or an accurate crossload capacity @ a given temperature) not tested in any head to head Im aware of)
