i know that they're uv reactive, but is there any source of uv light from the power supply? or would i have to either have my own uv light to make em glow, or just let em sit and not glow? if theres no source, i think it might've been better for them to put a uv light in the psu instead of the blue one (if that's possible?).

The OCZ Modstream PSU's (I currently use a 520w OCZ Modstream) have LED lightning on the fans, which is not UV light. But I've had dual 12" UV cathode lights in my case for quite some time, so I already had the source to illuminate the cables.

So basically, you have to provide your own source of UV light. and Frozencpu.com or Newegg offer UV lights for rather cheap prices, and installation is easy.

ya, thats what i thought. dam. would a fan w/ a uv cathode on it be strong enough to get every cable in a x-qpack? cuz i have no clue how strong the uv light has to be for it to glow and stuff. thanks.

edit: i also forgot i wanted to ask, is there any difference between the modstream and powerstream psu's by ocz? i think powerstream lights up green instead of blue, is there nething else?

Firstly, anything that is UV blue reactive does not glow nearly as brightly as orange/green/red or other colors. The brightest blue UV reaction I've seen is from the sleeving I get from Frozencpu.com, and even that is not VERY right unless it is right next to a UV light. So if you are expecting bright blue everywhere, you should pick another color. (I chose blue because I simply like the color blue) If you used a couple of fans with UV cathodes, it might be enough to light up the entire case decently.

Secondly, the difference between the Powerstream and the Modstream is obvious by the name itself. The Powerstreams tend to be more SLI capable and slightly more powerful, while the Modstream offers detachable cables.

oooh.. the picture i looked at when i was trying to see the difference between mod/powerstream was kinda small, so i thought the thing on the back was also detachable cable slots, so i was like ...wtf? thanks for clearing that up.

and also, i dont want like super bright glowing-ness, i just want it to b visibly glowing from the UV, is blue bright enough for that at least? also, u said to choose like red/green/orange etc instead, does the modstream come in diff colors? (for the uv cables)

No, the only Modstreams I've seen come in clear/semi-blue UV sleeving.

But if you want sleeving done for you, go to Frozencpu.com. For around $40 more, they will sleeve the entire PSU in whatever color sleeving you want, and they have quite a selection (including UV reactive colors). The Modstream is not able to be sleeved, however, because OCZ already sleeves it.
