Is this thing a friggin gimmick or could it actually be of use?
To me the only thing I could see it used for is giving "accurate" voltage readings for your ram...anything else.. I cant say
 
Well, it uses pots on the 12V line to override the VDIMM line on the mobo. I can't remember exactly how the vdimm circuitry on the mobo deal with it though. It also supplies all the current to the RAM as well, taking the load off of the mobo.
 
The thing really works, i think it'll take vdimm voltage up to 3.7-3.8 (maybe 4.1v - somewhere around there). I would definitely buy one...except i read over at xtremesystem's forums that with my A8V board any vdimm over around 2.8v causes instability and OS freezing. :( if i had any other board that only supplied 2.9v or lower, i would definitely buy one.
 
Had a word with a friend at OCZ and he said it will be available really soon (next week?)

Price is gunna be around $50

Tell me, how many user's in [H] talk about something they've never owned or used each day? How many people recommend buying certain video cards or cpu's without ever owning or using one? I see people everyday recommend A64's without even touching one before, how is that any different? But omg...you've owned me good.

Anyway, i've seen reviews, i've read threads about people using them...based on that I would buy one if it worked with my board. I didn't even recommend it to anyone, i just stated my opinion AGAIN (which you seem to think is fact) that i would buy one. I understand you might have a different opinion than me, but there's no need to be an asshole about it.

I appears to work for everyone who have used it and I hope it will work for me.

i'm just going to add...you assume WAY too many hidden meanings in my posts. no where did i say it would work for everyone, in fact i stated it didn't work for my board, that's not everyone now is it. its job is to increase vdimm and it increases vdimm, it works, i'm not changing what i said...THE THING WORKS.
