My Q6600 runs amazing at 3.0 for a month and cool too.

9 * 334 @ 1.2 V

4-4-4-12 Timings @ 1.8 V

Well recently I tried going to 3.2 but it wouldn't boot into windows. It would POST, but I'd get a hardware error or something.

I don't know, kind of in a rut..

I recently moved my ram voltage to the suppose to be voltage of 2.2 instead of auto and set the Q6600 to run at 1.25.

My VID is rated for 1.225.

I'm back at 9 * 268 now just to see what may be causing any issues. Any input is welcome.

I haven't tried OCs at the new volts yet. Specs in Signature!

Have you turned off the energy saving features of the processor in the bios?

Try disabling C1E FUNCTION and EIST FUNCTION.

Try 8x400 with your memory at 1:1

Could run mine at 3.0 fine but wouldn't let me clock higher without disabling those settings first.

Yeah.. I did. I probably just need to play with it or loosen timings. 3.0 is pretty decent; however knowing I got there below stock settings made me want to go farther.

Hmm I just brought it to the ones that use to fail... but set the memory from 1.8 v to 2.2v and it booted at 356*9 = 3.2 exactly.. with similar temperatures at 3.006

We will see how this runs. Then try for 360.

Think I can do 8*400 on stock cooling though? I may go buy an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 or w/e if they're only 21$.

That would be awesome.

I <3 my Q6600!

xD

Running mine on a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme...

Wouldn't run it on stock cooling at 3.2....

maybe try loosening up your ram timings

I'm at 9*356 = 3.2 / 1424

With 1.2 Voltage set in bios @ 1.25

My VID is rated 1.225

Ram is at 4-4-4-12 @ DDR 854 and........... 2.2v (Which is what stock says)

So... I have no idea? Keep going?

I ran prime 95 and I hit 61*c

Should I try 8*400 and would this make a big difference in temps?

Have you tried setting the timings to maybe 5-5-5-15? You would see minimal loss and maybe get more stability...

/second more vcore

my q6600 is vid 1.325 i have to run my chip vcore at 1.38 for 3.2 stable. i know the change is voltage is similar but under 1.4v i would think you are pretty safe as long as temps are safe.
