My PCIe bus is @ 100Mhz as default in the BIOS. Ive never touched this but what does it do? Do you gain performance? How much are good OCs to it? Will it degrade the life of your card or it has nothing to do with it? Im just curious becuase its always there and I wanna play with it :D More options to fiddle with ;)

Generally you dont want to mess with this setting. I know a couple of people that have overclocked their busses by 2-4% but they recieved such a low increase in benchmarks that I'm not sure it's not just statistical error. On the downside, overclocking the PCI-e bus is actually a lot of fun, that is... if you like risking corrupting the data on your HD's, getting random BSOD's and other fun ways to spend troubleshooting for an afternoon :D

I was trying to find an asnwer on this myself last weekend and couldn't really find anything on here. So I just did some random reading from other forums and google. Basically what I found was that some people reported better stability when run video benchmarks with high clocks by upping the bus anywhere from 100-110... Basically it was said that you dont' want to go above 110 without risking harm to the card itself. I pushed mine to 105 and it did seem to give better stability in 3dmark05 and 06 when testing out my new 7800GT, althoguh who really knows...

I put mine at 105 and I get about a 30 point increase in 3DMark 05. I heard to not go over 110 also. Messing with the PCIe bus cannot corrupt data...HDD are completely seperate from that.

Why not test it out for yourself?

Becuase I have no idea what it can do to your card which is why i asked

Anyways, Ill try upping a little and see what happens. For soem reason, I cannot get above 525MHz on my card w/out the forceware telling me i cant run it at that speed.
