hey i just built a new computer/old computer. i am wonder what should the temps be on my new rig? Oh yeah what would be the best way to overclock it on the Abit IC7-G? Softmenu?
Antec Sonata Case w/ 380 TP
P4 2.4c northwood Non/HT
Abit IC7-G max II
thermalright XP-90
BFG 6800GT 256mb AGP
DigiFire 7.1
1.2gig pc2100 2x512 1x256mb Kingston ddr
maxtor 80 gig hd ATA
Liteon DVD/RW
Gateway generic CDRW

Right now its overclocked to 2.750ghz what should be normal temps? Farieheight/celcius?

At idle it stay around 30c and my case is at 29-31c are these normal temps? what temps should i worry about? thanks guys. Oh yeah my temps reach about 40-42C durring load

i ran my 3.2c at 65C load on my xp-120 i dont think you have to worry ;)
your memorys killing you, get good memory, the 2.4c's esp need awsome memory

Idle temps don't matter worth a damn.
Load temps look good. I have my 2.4C @ only 2.75GHz, my ASUS board reads 40-42 depending on ambient temps. You shouldn't have to worry until the high 50s, maybe 60s but that's too hot for my taste.

thanks guys for the answers i was looking for, yeah my computer during load time runs about 35-41c depending on applications being used.

I've got P4 2.4C Northwood (800fsb) pushing 3.1GHz at 51C load. Idles around 45C. Air cooled with a mirror finished Zalman 7000Cu with AS5. Been running this for the past 2 years
