old components, i know, but I bought back in september and only recently wanted to oc because FarCry2 wasn't running acceptably.
Gigabyte EP43-DS3L
Scythe Andy Samurai Master
OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066
E7200
I set ram timings to manufacturer's specs, locked pci-e, yadda yadda yadda.
3.47ghz (366x9.5) stable. I have to manually set for 1.35v. It is Orthos stable for 8 hours at this setting...Orthos didn't fail, I just didn't want to wait any longer.
I can push it to 3.8 (400x9.5) but have to go to 1.425v and Prime95 will often fail...sometimes within 20 minutes, sometimes it takes 4 hours. Weird thing is that core 1 always fails, core 2 never fails. I don't know if this is normal.
Looks like I didn't get one of those magic e7200s that go 4ghz+ but I'm still totally happy going from stock 2.53 to a rock solid 3.5ghz. I'm gonna tweak some more and see if I can't get 3.7 stable.
Just my experience here.
