Here's the deal, I'm a super noob at this. Specs are in sig. I installed nvidia turner yesterday and bumped up the FSB to 219 Mhz. Which got me a clock of 2409 Ghz. I did not change any other settings. I played games and ran Prime95, everything ran fine. Is this ok to do? Can I leave it like this?

How long did prime run for?

Change it in the BIOS if it's stable for at least 15 hours.. so you dont have to use the program all the time.

I'm going to change it in the Bios later today and see if it will still run without any problems. I was just asking because normally you have to adjust other settings. I'm guessing it's such a small oc that it will be fine but I'm going to prime it again and see if I can hit 15 hrs. Thanks for the help!

Open CPUz (or download it) and check your RAM timings and frequency... I dont know many sticks of RAM that overclock 19mhz without any sort of modifications...

19 mhz is decent for ram, and considering it's at stock voltage it's actually quite good. If it runs stable, awesome! But fyi, you can increase the DRAM voltage and get some more out of it.

the Cas 3 (first 3) is probably why you can go so high on your Ram Speed. Eh, 19mhz on your RAM will ALWAYS be better than lower timings.

They're not bad... But not great either (in reality, lowering them to a better 2.5-3-3-6, while keeping the 19mhz overclock would probably be impossible, and wouldn't really help much)

So if my ram had lower timings I could not have an overclock like what I have? Would the performance from lower timings be better than the overclock I have now?

Lower Timings (ie. OCZ El Platnium REV.2 TCCD Ram is 2-2-2-5) i think, which is good..

u can get a better OC.

memory speed and timings have next to no effect on overall performance. worry about cpu speed.

Started prime95 last night around 8:00pm, woke up this morning and it was still running. It ran fine even with my scheduled virus scan. I think this OC is good to go. What do you think?

HEh heh.

I tried 2 things.

I ran a mem @ 3 3 3 667 mhz 1t and same module in same system @ 4 4 4 800mhz 2T. I kept the FSB@ 200. Result? Pretty much the same thing. On Everest, 667 did only slightly better on 1of 3 test and not by much. The other 2 test it won by a small margin. On Sis the 667 wont again by small margins however 800 won by a nice amount on one test.

I agree with you 95%. HEH HEH. If I don't OC I still wouldn't mind dropping timings on the memory. I noticed games load a tad faster and windows loads a tad faster as well.

What do I know. U sensei! :p ;)

Came home and prime is still running 15 hours+ and everthing is still working great. Thanks for all the help!
