i was just wondering what the highest overclock you guys have been able to get to. im using the omega drivers and the built in OCing utility. right now im at 391 core and 364 ram.
was just wondering what everyone else was abel to get to. i dont want to go too high and have to dish out another 200 bucks. thnx

Just about every 9800 Pro I've seen has been able to do 410/360-420/365 stock. It seems the first cards (like mine) tended to overclock better than the newer ones. I've worked with enough to notice this quite clearly. In otherwords, there is no set maximum or common OC. I've seen ones up to 450/385+ without voltmods quite often, but most were older.

ATI Tool might help you better find your maximum clocks without resulting damage. You can also do it manually by running the mother nature test in 3DMark03 and pushing the clock a little bit at a time. Too high core will result in freeze/crash and/or white dots (snow), while too high memory will result in artifacts (random discolored polygons and such).

I used ATI Tool with my Sapphire 256 bit 128 MB 9800 Pro, it has an R360 Core and 2.8ns Hynix ram. After putting a VGA Silencer on it, I can get it to 441/388.8 with no artifacts, even after gaming for up to 8 hours at a time, with the average uptime total being about 15 hours. I guess I got a good sample, but I want to make it flash to an XT. Can anyone please reference me to a thread/site with directions on the flashing, and I want to know who makes the best XT bios. Thanks!

mines an old 9800pro with stock i did 435/375 i just installed a ATI Silencer ... lol the thing is flying high at 475/385 :D
