well ive heard a few things i had my p4 OC to 3.6 and they said that was wayyyyy to night and im going 2 fry my processor it was at 1.55V cranked up to 260 and it was running great but every1 was telling me to turn that shit down and i was in love with it :( now im running aroun 3.3 and they still said its 2 high so which should i do??? im running 2 120mm intake/exhast fan w/ a bad ass side case fan that puts out as much air as my cpu fan which keeps the case nice and cool here are the links to my cpu fan. so what do u think im looking for almost peak OC that wount fry my processor and will be nice and fast :-D its currently 1.5V at 245 @ 3.4

not once did you metion your temps.... with a pressy id say as long as you can stay under 70C under load your okay and dont go over 1.6vcore with it either
 
Im pretty sure you can do that, i have a friend with water cooling, and he overclocked his 2.4 to 3.4, not sure about the 2.8 but with the right board and memory im sure you can push the processor to pretty high. Also another friends 3.0 was over clocked to 3.73, and that was stable but he had to drop his memory a bunch, but im really sure its doable, on air maybe, just get yourself the thermalright sp-97, for the P4 with a panaflow fan and your set, great cooler, i have a 3.0 @ 3.28 and my temps are 28/37, its a great cooler.. :)
 
i'd say any temp under load below 55* C is ideal; that being said, you could probably push it as high as 59 under load, if it were any higher, i, personally, would back off.

why? b/c on most motherboards, the lowest automatic shutdown temperature is ...60*C! There must be a reason for that, eh?
