Oc'ing 8350

So I recently bought a computer off a friend which has an 8350 in it with a corsair h100i water cooler. So long story short it seems slow as balls overclocked but stock speeds feel better does that make sense? Any tips to make it faster besides upgrading?
 
in this case, short stories never are good, without knowledge of the overall system specs and BIOS settings for overclocking there's no way someone can help or say any kind of tip, as there are too many variables to check so, post all the BIOS settings used for overclock, voltages, Bus frequency, memory frequency, etc.. all is important in order to try to find a solution.
