OC'ing 6800U worth it?

I bumped up my eVGA 6800 Ultra to 436/1120 on stock cooling from 425/1100. I don't want to go any higher because the card is running 4 degrees higher than before.

How much performance gain do you really see from maxing out your video card and how high of an OC do you have to go to see a noticeable difference?

4 degrees is ok. You might see about 5-10 fps gain or so on air. It might be enough to make a certain mode/high res playable that you couldn't use before. As long as your load temps don't go up to 90c you are probably ok. Do you know what coolbits is?

Read my sig, I'd say leave it alone. I knew what I was doing and I still got dealt a bad card. Save the overclock until you need it, when they card's worth a little less....my main hang up is I wanted a constant 60fps+ in 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF in Source, max details....which with my overclocks (10x235 1:1 2-3-3 on my CPU/memory, 440/1.19GHz 6800U) I got....until my card died that is.

Yea, I used coolbits to OC my 6800U. I left my computer idle all day and my GPU temps are now 1-2 (fluctuating) degrees higher.

I'll have to do some heavy gaming later and see it really heat up.
