Well this question has been asked and asked....
there is no answer to your question really, to many varibles to factor in.
How hot is the CPU? How are you getting to that 3.4 (what fsb), what amount of voltage?
These play a key part in your overclocking. I personally think that any overlock that needs a huge voltage increase if simply not worth it. I have been running my unlocked 2500 for over a year overclocked since day 1. Started out at 200x11, then moved to 207x10.5, now im at 220x10 and still running AWESOME....going to replace the heatsink soon (Thanks Jen).
I would look at all these factors and decide....if you run more power it will wear out quicker, how much quicker? Dunno really.....if you run it HOT (55C+) then its going to wear out quicker.
Just give yourself the best possible solutions to keep your system cool and your cpu below 55C , to be safe, try to keep it below 50C.

If temps aren't much higher than stock (if they're higher than stock at all), and you don't have any voltage boost over stock, and it's 100% prime95 stable for 24+ hours, then I'd feel comfortable betting any amount of money that the life span of the processor won't be (significantly) shorter than stock speeds at all. It's really not that big of an o/c, I'd feel 100% fine with it if it were me.
Temps sound fine and everything (as long as temps of the processor at 100% load aren't far off from what you posted), so no worries

Basically, as long as it's not getting overly hot...you should be fine. Even if your voltages are higher, it doesn't mean there's a problem. If there was a problem, your temps would go up.

Couldnt agree more ......overclocking does decrease life on cpu, but who really keeps the same CPU for 5+ years. At least not anyone on this board....thats like someone saying they have a P2-300 now and 128megs of ram.
