Okay, I'm sort of a rookie at this whole OCing thing... but I had OC'd my DDR2-667 memory to DDR2-778 and had turned down the timings on my memory (in sig) by one notch, and now my CPU idles at 5 degrees higher then what it used to... 37 degree's celsius instead of the 32 I used to get before the OC. Can anyone explain why? Thanks.

To raise memory speed, on an intel system, you haev to raise FSB which raises CPU speed.

If you dont know that you shouldn't be overclocking

Strange, because my FSB is still at 311 x 9 according to CPU-Z... the memory however is at 388 MHz, a 4:5 ratio.

this may be a long shot, but since you overclocked your ram, it generates more heat. the ambient temp in the computer might have risen, causing your cpu to get a little hotter than usual.

did you leave your CPU vcore on auto?
Nope, I believe it's at 1.325... but I'm not quite sure what I set it to, however CPU-Z shows it at 1.30 under idle.

Chassis is open though...

in the bios, there is an option call "CPU Voltage", change it from auto to your desire voltage.

I was under the impression the P5B didn't support 4:5.

Yeah next off is I'd agree with the ambient temp theory.

When you increase speed on your memory your also increasing speed on your northbridge, hence increasing heat on both. Your CPU is flanked by heat.

edit: oh and after reading my first post a 2nd time, I didn't mean to sound accusitory, I was just trying to fill you in.
