Relevance? Most of us, I'm sure, were well aware. This means *nothing* now. Calling the Ozzies a bunch of criminals (which is essentially what you just did) is far from on key, proper or mature. The origins of their country mean nothing now, and play no part in their current status. Get a grip.

This country (the US) was started by a bunch of psychotic biblethumpers who were so extreme the Church of England couldn't deal with them. Relevant now? Hell no. Though we do have a fair share of psychotic biblethumpers, still. Probably more criminals per capita than Australia, too.

Check with some of our esteemed British teammates, you'll find Americans commonly referred to as "Yanks". No offense is intended, but I'd rather be a Yank-ee :p .

Well, since I now live in Northern Virginia, just bought 150 acres of land in Mississippi, (still have 73 acres in Fletcher, Vt.) I must be a dammed damned Yankee!!

i think it'd be fun to live in Australia. IIRC, they have the country (or most of it) wired with fiber optic cables. internet++

i also don't mind being called a yankee. i hope i'm not in a minority in that i don't really care what you call me (as long as you spell it right:p anyone else remember that thread that had my name spelled wrong where someone was calling me out?)

i tend to find people who take offense to things like that humorous (or scary, depending on the degree to which they take offense)

anywho, enough rambling.

When the Genome wars were being fought many of us routinely posted at Ars and they regularly posted here. We mostly kept the slapdown talk amongst ourselves and when "crossposting" usually did it to benefit Science with helpful hints we all shared.
The same should be done with OCAU.
We, [H], were often referred to as a bunch of gaming 15 yr olds with no respect, loyalty, or purpose. Well I hope we are a bunch of 15yr olds at heart, but with loyalty to [H] and purpose - to fold.
And I disagree with FLECOM's "post af if you were here", I think here is our semi-private bar, outsiders welcome with caution, bashers banned.
Frequently someone posts after a few sips, quarts, etc. Things can get a little roudy amongst friends. But when the day's over still be friends.
One of my favorite peeps was neevo, from Leeds, England, he last donated under the [H] 2003-09-20 02:06:25, and accrued 78,784 points for us. He went on to OCAU, where he seems to be welcome, and has put in 133,663. Which is about twice our gap at the moment.
So please treat other forums where you are not a major player as their semi-private bar, and get them to pay for the drinks.

We've talked crap about eating roo. fellows at OCAu, seem to enjoy the taste as well. Sounds like buffallo meat, very lean. Buffallo could have been our nations symbol, if they hadn't tried like hell, to make them extinct. The scary part, is the turkey almost became our nations symbol. In keeping with the whole thanksgiving mottif. Wow, did we dodge a bullet there. Everyone eat the nations symbol at least once a year. Could you see a gobbler on our money :p . "So what if they're a superpower, the money is ugly".
