Is there a code or something we are supposed to follow that says to stay out? I'm asking cause 3 [H] members popped up in one thread, and the responses we got were kind of funny.
I found out that for some reason I hate getting called a Yankee.

 
I'd sign up. Perhaps we could convince one or two aussies into folding for the [H]orde! :D

I really FEEL you on that one.

I'm from a place that the general feeling is that the "Great War of Northern Agression" was never really ended. That Robert E. Lee died in battle and that an actor stood in for him at the surrender.

My Granpa would be comin' up outa tha groun' he's buried in iffin' he's calt sumpin' lak that. :eek: :eek: :D

Being called a Yankee doesn't really bother me...unless it has to do with the New York Yankees...boo! Besides, I'm from the west coast and we don't tend to have that much reverence for the confederates...but whatever floats your boat.
 
We already have several esteemed Australian teammates. This is an international team of computer enthusiasts, capable of making a difference.

Most of the computers I fix, are incapable of porn surfing, much less folding@home. We carry the torch for an entire species. Time to put old wounds behind us. All of my relatives came from the south, but the roo will taste just as good in jumbalaya. Grits and roo steak anyone?

 
I'm more of a 'tug-ee' or a 'pull-ee'. Yankee seems just too harsh.

I totally agree

To date with very few (old) exceptions both teams have had a mutual respect and treated each other as such.

The lead will change hands again, and probably again and again.

Between us we are the two greatest folding teams around, let’s be gentlemen about it all and show respect where it’s due.
 
This project doesn't even originate down under, but they fight the good fight, anyways. The good folks at OCAu, impress the heck out of me. I hope they manage to throw a few hundred more rigs into the mix, and push us even harder. This is a battle of Titans, regardless of whomever wins the fight, we all win.

Being from Alaska though, I never really understood all the hype about a
"home" team got a clearer picture when i was in california.. and then
in baltimore.. and now dc... *shrugs* i dont pay enough attention to
sports for it to really make to a difference to me..

How is that not New England? Whe have Rhubarb and strawberries all over the frelling place. Given, it's probably even more prevalent in the midwest, but what good ever came from the midwest? :p
 
Ahh. yes. the Sox. one of the teams (of many many) i rooted for in my teamless state.. was the white sox (back in the day)...

I did watch most of the world series last year and rooted for the red sox... they aint too bad ;)

Could use their bats to flog the aussies...

Uhhh...yeah being from the south I am intimately aware of all the connotations to yankee. I have always been called a yankee on any board that isn't american in origin. Hence why Iwas confused that someone would be surprised that is what we are referred to as.

"damned Yankee" is what we Southerners call Yankees that move South and don't go back. You're just a Yankee. :p

Actually, the term orginated because of General Sherman.
It was his nickname... Everyone in the South reffered to him as "that damned Yankee"
