Hi guys. This is my first OC. It seems to run stable and the temps don't seem too hot from what I have gathered. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Asus Rampage Formula
Coolermaster Real Power Pro 650w

Sorry about the bad capture. I just realized that I lost some of the voltages when I went to post this thread. FYI - TJmax is set at 100C in HWmonitor.

These are my bios settings and temps. The first numbers are what I have set and the numbers in parenthesis are what show up in the hardware monitor of the bios.

CPU Voltage - 1.325 (1.28)
CPU PLL - 1.50 (1.584)
NB Voltage - 1.31 (1.328)
DRAM Voltage - 1.96 (2.0)
SB Voltage - 1.05 (1.07)
SB1.5 Volts - 1.50 (1.55)
FSB Strap NB - 333
FSB Term Volts - Auto (1.392)
LLC - Off
CPU GTL - Auto
NB GTL - Auto
DRAM Controller Volt Ref. - Auto (1.008)
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disabled
PCIE Spread Spectrum - Disabled

Temps:
CPU- 34
MB - 32
NB - 43.5
SB - 41.0

Initially I had the CPU voltage 1.28 and the NB Voltage at 1.29 but I was getting failures in Prime pretty quickly. I have a couple of questions. Are the differences in Cores 0 and 1 anything to worry about? I've seen some discrepancies close to this big, but I wasn't sure. Should I not fool around with LLC? Also; when I replace the 3450 with a better a video card, what kind of adjustments am I looking to make. Will it likely destabilize this overclock? Finally; wtf is up with WDC2500KS temps? I know I am probably leaving something out. I know, I'm a noob. Let me know if more information is needed and I will do my best to make things more clear. Thanks in advance for the help.

Differences in temperature between cores are commonplace and nothing to be concerned about. LLC works for me, so I would enable it if I were you (or leave it enabled if it already is). It can help you hit stable overclocks with lower BIOS voltage settings since you won't have to worry as much about Vdroop.

Replacing your video card should have no effect on your overclock, so don't worry about that. As for your HD temperatures, they do look a bit high. Try sticking a fan in front of them if there isn't one already. If there is a fan there, it's possible something is blocking airflow to the drive, so try to position things in your case so that the HD gets an unobstructed supply of cool air.

Updated with LLC enabled. This is as low as I can drop the cpu voltage. In bios, it is set to 1.26xxx Anything below and core#2 gives an error after around 30 minutes. Are you guys sure these temps are ok? I guess I was hoping for them to be a litttle cooler but I can't complain because it was so easy to get to 3.6ghz.

Also; I am getting ready to get an new gpu. I am thinking about an 4870. The big thing is, my monitor only supports 1680x1050. Is that card overkill? Lastly; I kinda mentioned this earlier but I'll ask again. When I get this new vid card, will I need to adjust the NB voltage or anything like that? Thanks for your input.

Temps are pretty good. Concerning the new graphics card itll just be a matter of downloading the appropriate ati driver, uninstall the older driver. Remove the old card and insert the new one then install the drivers for it. A 4870 will be a great card at 1680x1050.

Yep, your temps are perfectly fine. They're actually pretty low.

A 4870 is a good card for a 1680x1050 monitor. You'll be able to max out the settings on most games. Also, you won't have to mess with any BIOS settings to get the card to work. Just plug it in and go.
