Ok,

i would like to know what oc software you have had the best experience with.

I am going to be using it on a HIS HD5770 with IceQ5.

I think most would agree that MSI Afterburner is the best software. It is Rivatuner re-skinned with an easier to use interface. In my opinion it is the best.

Hmm. So, MSI afterburner works, even on non-MSI cards?

Yes, but you may not have access to all of the features, and if your card is non reference then you won't have voltage control. The rest will work fine....

That's not totally true. Some non-reference designs still have a software controllable VRM, so a blank statement like that is misleading.

OK, I should explain more so as to not mislead ;). Unless Afterburner supports those non-ref vrm's (and it mostly does not) then you are out of luck....eg my Asus 5850 DirectCU is non-ref, it has voltage control via Asus's own SmartDoctor software but it was not recognised by Afterburner.

Luckily for me I noticed that an MSI card used the same vrm's (uP6208), so I contacted the maker of AB and he added a line of code to unlock the voltage control in AB for my card. However, this only gives an adjustment of 100mV, so is not much use. My new 6970 DirectCU II which is being shipped is not supported at all by AB. Just because a non-ref card might have voltage control is in no way an indication that you can use AB to control it.
