Hi, i have 2g of Corshair xms pro ram and the timings are this:
Frequency- 200mhz
cas# 3
Ras# to CAS#--3
Ras# Precharge -3
TRas#-8

can i get better timings than that, if so what would some good timings be? also the above info is for the individual sticks of ram.

oops sorry i forgot to post specs, here they are.

Asus a8n sli board
evga 7800gtx
2g corshair xmx pro ram
350gb WD hd 16mb cache
amd 4000+

well, in addition to the link posted before, i have a guide written up that's expressly meant to help overclock ram.

however, to oc the ram, you must also overclock the motherboard and cpu, unless you settle for just a >1:1 memory ratio, which makes little sense from a performance standpoint.

have you tried your hand in overclocking the cpu first? :D

i have my cpu overclocked to 2.5ghz, X12 multiplier, FSB 210 mhz. but im thinking of getting my multiplier to x10 and the fsb to 250. but doing that, i would have to overclock my ram to be safe. any ideas?

you already are overclocking the ram if you didn't touch the memory ratio; it's running at 210mhz ;)

hay thanks for the quick response and info. Now i was wondering if i will need to do anything to the ram if i get my processor with a x10 multiplier and the fsb at 250 mhz? and if i need to do something, what should i do?

-thanks

why would you want to bump the fsb that high though? all it'll do is make the ram run faster ;)

one option though, change the ram speed to 5:6 ratio.. i think it's listed as DDR333 in your bios, but it might be 166mhz. then when you go for 250x10, the ram will be running at cpu/12 for 208.3mhz :D
