I see a lot of people like coretemp and others like speedfan and such. But coretemp for me is reporting that my cpu is 400mhz over what it really is and intel TAT records this as the maximum frequency. Speedfan reports correctly and bios gives temps that speedfan give. Temps in coretemp/tat are higher than speedfan.

So heres how I see the 4 programs grouped:

Speedfan/Bios - report similar
Coretemp/Intel Tat - report similar

But coretemp and Tat have errors in cpu frequency measurement

Conclusion:

Speedfan > tat/coretemp

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I can't really comment on the temp monitoring as i use uguru that came with my abit board, but if you want to monitor your cpu frequency then use cpu-z.
