OC problem?

Turn on Orthos, run small FFT's for a few sec, my ABIT IP35 Pro will then spin up its fans and then orthos will turn red and say "STOPPED". My motherboard will then beep every few seconds until I turn off orthos. Prime95 also seems to not like to have a second instance open (btw, where can I get prime95 with those worker threads? I have to open a second window).

EDIT: I have no problem doing anything else. Play TF2 for hours no problem, installed some adobe and MS apps no problem. Browse internet, listen to music np...
 
Orthos is Prime95, just repackaged in a multicore friendly form. If Orthos is crashing it means your CPU is making a computation error, most likely because it is clocked to high for a given voltage. Try upping the voltage on your CPU a touch and see if that helps.

That being said, if it runs fine in real world apps, maybe it's stable enough for your use and you can just live with it. The purists will tell you that is hogwash, but really, do you use your computer to run Prime95, or play games? If it works for what I'm using it for, I'm happy.
 
Gave it the smallest voltage jump I could, it was already set on it's lowest (default from switching to manual mode). 1.3250 to 1.3350

Give it another voltage bump? There are a lot of other voltage options... like MCH and some others that are running at 67% or something... I haven't changed any. I did increase my Corsair to it's recommended 2.1 for running it at it's 4-4-4-12.

My temps peaked at 50 celcius, started around 35, but mainly was on 48. That's from speedfan and it's Core 0 and Core 1 temp. My 8800GTS 512 seems to run pretty hot (50-53) when the fan is at it's default 20% speed, I change it to 40% in ntune (and the temps go down to 40) but it doesn't seem to remember my setting...

I'd to like this be orthos stable for hours so I can see how high my temps go. If it gets near to 60oC I'm not gonna try to go higher, but if my temps are fine and run stable, I'll bump it to a 425 bus, and eventually to 450 if the last one was stable.

If you wanted to know, I'm using a Zalman 9500.
 
Put it up to 1.3750 and so far it's been stable for an hour and still going!

Temp shot from 24oC to 50oC and the fan speed up a little at the beginning. I'm sure if I went into the bios I could make the fan faster depending on temp. It's been 55-56oC for most of the time after the first Test 2-3. Peaked at 57 but it only stayed that way for a second.

I'm gonna try a 425 bus now :D

EDIT: Tried the 425, not orthos stable for a second. I could probably give it another voltage increase but I noticed on the OC list sticky in this section that almost all of the OC's were done with 6 B2 steppings, mine is a 2 L2 (bought it in March 2007 from newegg). 3.2GHz is plenty fine :D and I'm happy that it is now orthos stable. Time to OC the video card!
