OC on a card

Hey all

Just installed Rivatuner last night and OC'ed my GPU.

It is an MSI 8600GTS (fanless).

These are the speeds that I set them to. 710 CORE and 1100 on the MEM (base is 675 core and 1000 mem).

Here is an issue...my Shader Clocl is 1512, however, on the Rivatuner graphs it only goes to 1500...is there an issue with me running this portion over 1500?

When adjusting the core I "locked" the Core clock to Shader clock so at a 710 core a 1512 shader clock is what I ended up with.

Oh yeah and after gaming for about an hour...my TEMP got up to 50c gaming with World in Conflict 1024x768 and I still hit 8fps on the test. Is 50c okay for a card? At idle I am right on 45c.

Have I done everything right???

Little help here from the pros please.

Your temps on the card are fine and your shaderclock shouldn't be anything to worry about. It kinda funny I haven't seen a GPU temp that low in my rig in awhile. Darn 8800s running running hotter around 60c, but Nvidia and ATI cards in the near future should run a lot cooler.

Right click on the shader graph and adjust the upper limit to 2k.

Right Click on the graph -> click Setup -> find the Maximum Value Limit (MHz) field -> put it at 2000.00 -> click OK

RivaTuner is working?

Couple more questions.

Is there any need to OC the 2D settings...or do you just OC the 3d portion?

I am using Vista...so how do I set it up to avoid the UAC thing?

You can only overclock the 'performance 3D' section, but it seems to be universal, working in both 2d and 3d mode.

As far as UAC, the first thing I did after installing Vista was turn it off! :D
