oc my cpu please.....

I have an asus a8n-sli deluxe w/ amd 64 3500+ cpu on stock cooling......was wondering if anybody can help me oc it as high as I can......also....after ocing it....how long should I run prime95??
 
cool...thanks!.....actually got up to 2.4ghz (219 x 11) @ 1.55v.....ran prime95 for 8hrs stable....cpu idle/load @ 38C/52C...mobo idle/load @ 38C/40C....so I was wondering if anybody with the same cpu/mobo got any higher than mine?
 
depends on which type of 3500+ you have


there are two types... if you have a winchester, that is about right, about average.

If you have a venice, it is a bit on the low side....

you forgot the third type: the newcastle :)
 
indeed i did, i was thinkin there were 3 types... couldn't remember the 3rd



but really now, if you've got a newcastle at 2.4ghz you are certainly near your max
 
sell the 3500+ and get a 3200+ venice find one on the sale forum that has good stepping and hit 2.6 + or - :) just my 2 cents
 
better yet, monarch man has the opteron 144s for less than 140 dollars... that in itself is a steal
 
ya....this is a venice cpu....is there anyway I can change it 2 get it higher?
