I have only dabbled in a little overclocking in the past.

I just recently got a C2D system built and spent the past few days reading up on various settings. I wanted to get some input from all you experts to see if I'm on the right track and understanding the things I read correctly.

I am running an E6600 on a P5k Deluxe with OCZ DDR2-1066 Platinum 2x1Gb.
Just on the stock cooler for now, but the PC is very close to the AC vent so cooling isnt too bad of an issue (Case is an Antec P182).

So, I dropped my multiplier from 9 to 8.
Bumped the FSB to 400. Stability becomes an issue if I go much higher
Running the ram at DDR-800 to get 1:1 ratio
Currently running stable at a 1.325 voltage after hours of stress testing with Prime95

Any suggestions or thoughts?

A single instance of Prime95 doesn't do so much to stress a dual core CPU. Get a copy of Orthos for stress testing.
