i have a abit ic7 max3 mobo wid a p4 3.2 nothwood.. the memory im tryna OC is a corsair xms ddr333 2x 512mb at a latency of 2 2 2 5..... its bugging me has i cant overclock thsi ram up 2 ddr400.. it doesnt run stable according to a program called mmtest... i tested it at ddr333 as well and i still get errors.......

Try a different program like memtest 86 or goldmem. It's possible the ram is bad.

If all else fails, try relaxing your timings a bit. 2 2 2 5 is pretty low for anything but high quality ram.

yea i used mmtest 86 2 test ram, i tested it a ddr 133mhz and i managed 2 get it stable by downclocking da ram :( the ram works fine on my old mobo which has a fsb of 533 so its perfect along with my xms ddr333......

I have two Corsair XMS Platinum PC2700 256MB modules...they are currently running just fine at 400MHz with my Athlon XP-M. Admittedly, I don't think I have them running at 2-2-2-5, I've let my mainboard set the timings, but they've run great.

What voltage do you have your modules set to? I'd run them at 2.7 or 2.8v to see if that helps. Consider lowering the latency a little bit as well in your BIOS, they'll probably run at 400 fine if you don't expect them to do 2-2-2-5.

Have you tested each stick of RAM individually? Seems to me like one or both sticks of RAM is bad there.

Why would he have bad ram? Cause they don't overclock at low latency?

this is why....i do think u have a bad stick...try them separatly w/ memtest and see what happens...as for overclocking it....u could try like 2-3-3-5 or however u want it....

You know, I had a problem one time where I was failing memtests so I tried the ram in a different setup of mine and there were no problems at all. The boards memory controller had a problem with it so that I was getting errors. I spent a lot of time running tests on the ram.

One question, is this paired ram? I had that problem with a set of corsairs, worked great individually at the advertised speed, but as a pair I needed to relax the timing to get them to work stable.
