Hello,
I purchased a laptop with a Mobile Athlon 3000+ 64 bit edition. It operates at 1.8Ghz. The lapptop is a HP/COMPAQ R300Z LAPTOP (Part #: DP533AV). Is it possible potentially possible to overclock it to the frequency of a 3400+ (2.0 or 2.2 Ghz; I forget)?
**I know that some CPUs don't overclock at all while others do.
Has anyone done it?
 
the mobile a64's typically overclock pretty well. you'll probably have to overclock from windows though, with something like clockgen

also.. keep a close eye on temps ;)
 
Is it potentially possible to get the value of a Athlon 3200+ 64 or 3400+ 64 by OCing a 3000+ 64 or did AMD take steps to prevent this from occuring?

It can be done if theres a clockgen that supports the motherboard of the laptop.
