I'm going to OC my 1055t, but I need to find a good HSF as I'm currently using stock. I am considering the hyper 212, but I think I would like something better. I'm just not sure what will fit and is in the $50 range. I see directron has the veromous x for $62. What you think? I don't want to buy something and find out it wont fit. Rig in sig. Thanks!

Thanks, but not sure about all in one WC units. I had one on my opty 165 and didn't like the hum coming from the pump. How is the pump noise on the H50. What would be some good quiet fans for it? Any suggestions for air?

I'd say the Hyper 212+ would do you well. It's very affordable, comes with tried and true HDT technology, and allows for a push/pull configuration. I had the H50 but moved onto a Venomous X because the H50's pump made a faint buzzing noise that would drive me mad when everything was dead silent. I don't necessarily miss the H50. That and I felt the H50 just didn't have the cooling capacity of the Venomous-X, but it's compactness was nice. Most reviews I've seen seem to optimize cooling with 1600RPM fans and for that I would recommend any fans equipped with fluid dynamic bearings like the Scythe S-Flex or Thermalright TR-FDB series (they're both essentially the same fan just different branding). The Gentle Typhoon series by Scythe also receives a lot of praise for clean noise and high static pressure...especially the 1850RPM version. I wouldn't spend anymore on fans beyond those options, the prices just become too ridiculous.

Best advice I can give if you truly want silence, invest in a fan controller. That way you can manipulate fan speeds on the fly! :)

My H50 keeps my 1055t under 54 degrees at 1.5v and even if I take the side off of my case I can not hear the pump. The only thing I ever hear is a faint gurgling sound. Personally there is no way I would trade it for the over sized venomous x. I am using the stock fan and a scythe fan I had sitting around. After years of living with a case and 6 80mm fans, this set up seems quiet.

Thanks to both of you. Not quite sure yet... maybe I'll get both and see what I like best, Damn.. decisions.
